Get Out of Our Cities: Another Nationwide Uprising Against ICE

Thousands of protesters across the US took to the streets on January 30, 2026, to demand that ICE leave their cities and towns, with demonstrations held in major cities like Los Angeles, New York City, and Minneapolis.
The protests were sparked by the killings of two US citizens, Renée Good and Alex Pretti, by federal agents in Minnesota, as well as the detention of 5-year-old Liam Ramos, who is currently sick in a Texas detention center.
A US District judge declined to order the Trump administration to immediately scale back its operations in Minnesota, arguing that the state had not definitively shown that the administration's decision to deploy agents was unlawful.
Protests were not limited to the US, with demonstrations also held in cities around the world, including Paris and Milan, in solidarity with US protesters.
Journalist and former CNN anchor Don Lemon was arrested by federal agents in connection with his appearance at a church protest in St. Paul, highlighting the risks faced by those speaking out against ICE's actions.
The protests also included economic actions, such as refraining from shopping and working, as well as a school walkout organized by students around the country.
Another nationwide mobilization is planned for March 28, organized by the No Kings coalition, which has previously organized mass demonstrations against ICE and the Trump administration.
