As bombings in Gaza killed and wounded dozens over the weekend, Schumer's remarks were met with widespread condemnation, with Dylan Williams of the Center for International Policy stating that Schumer "should not misunderstand" his role as Senate Democratic Leader to push for more aid to Israel, contrary to the views of the majority of Democratic voters.
